Richard Fitzgerald Anster was born ca. 1767. He and -?- were married. He and Mary Anne Matilda Meredith were married on 10 Jan 1801 in Calcutta Fort William, Bengal, IndiaG.^1,2,3 He died on 20 Apr 1807, at age ~40, in Bengal, IndiaG.^4,5

An item in the Reynold’s Newspaper of 1897 entitled “Missing Heirs and Kindred” refers to Richard Fitzgerald Anster as having gone to India in 1788, and refers to his children John Jervis, Eliza Frances and Henrietta Lavina.

It is not known who was the mother of Richard Fitzgerald Anster’s two children who were baptised in 1793. The record of his marriage in 1801 does not say whether he was a bachelor or widower, simple “Esq.”

An East India Register and Directory from 1805 records Richard Anster as the assistant to the sub-treasurer.

He died at the age of 40.⁵

Vivian Roy Meredyth was born on 26 Feb 1887.^1,2 He was baptised on 27 Mar 1887 in Chalmers Free Church, Hobart, Tasmania.³ He died in 1949, at age ~62, in Redfern Registration District, New South Wales.⁴

Vivian Roy Meredyth worked for the British New Guinea Development Co. Ltd. between 1912 and 1920. He was a Plantation Manager on Gadaisu Plantation in Milne Bay Province (Papua), and is believed to have been transferred from there to Baubauguina Plantation in Cloudy Bay, Papua. He was recorded as travelling back from Port Morseby with his two sons on the ship Marsina, arriving in Sydney on the 10 Jan 1920.^5,6
