A Memorial of an Assignment bearing date and executed the sixth day of February
One thousand eight hundred and sixty five Between Rice Meredith of Derrykerin in
the Queen’s County farmer of the one part and Jeremiah Meredith of the Oak in
said Queen’s County farmer of the other part Reciting that by Indenture of
Leasedated twenty fourth September One thousand eight hundred and fifty five
Whereby the Right Honourable James Lord Viscount Lifford[?] for the consid’ons
therein mentioned devised and set unto said Rice Meredith that part of the Lands
of Barkmill then in his possession therein and herein more particularly
mentioned and described (excepting as therein) To hold unto said Rice Meredith
his heirs Extrs admons and assigns from twenty fifth March then last for thirty
one years then next ensuing or during the lives of Victoria Princess Royal,
Albert Edward Prince of Wales and Alice Mand[?] Mary the three eldest children
of her Majesty the Queen whichever years or lives should longest last at the
yearly rent of ten pounds ten shillings payable half yearly as therein mentioned
And reciting that by one other Indenture of Lease dated second December One
thousand eight hundred and sixty two Whereby David Philip Brown and Frances
Dorothy Brown his wife demised and set unto said Rice Meredith that part of the
lands of O’Moores Forrest then in his possession therein and hereinafter also
more particularly mentioned and described To hold unto said Rice Meredith his
heirs Exctrs admons and assigns from the twenty fifth March One thousand eight
hundred and sixty three for thirty one years or during the lives of Kildare
Barronus[?] eldest son of Erasmus Barronus and eldest Grandson of Sir Erasmus
Dixon Barronus Baronet then aged ten years and of John Algernon Myloner[?]
eldest son of Michael Myloner Esquire ten aged nine years and of Edward Henry
Meredith fourth son of said Rice Meredith then aged five years subject to the
yearly rent of fifty two pounds ten shillings payable half yearly as therein
mentioned And Reciting that said Rice Meredith being indebted to several
persons amounting in the whole to the sum of seven hundred and eight pounds
eight shillings and five pence applied to said Jeremiah Meredith to advance and
to pay off said sums as due as aforesaid on said Jeremiah Meredith getting an
absolute assignment of said two several indentures of lease and the premises
thereby demised to which said Jeremiah Meredith had agreed and after reciting as
therein the memorializing indenture Witnessed that said Rice Meredith in
consideration of said sum of seven hundred and eight pounds eight shillings and
five pence and for the further consideration therein mentioned (receipt
acknowledged) the said Rice Meredith granted bargained sold assigned transferred
and made over released and confirmed unto said Jeremiah Meredith All those part
of the lands of Barkmill containing with strand[?] and proportion of road
fifteen acres and nineteen perches Irish plantation measure more or less then
late in possession[?] of said Rice Meredith meared[?] and bounded as in recited
lease and the map thereto annexed which said Lands were situate and being in the
Barony of Maryborough West[?] and Queen’s County As Also All Those part of the
Lands of O’Moores Forrest containing sixty seven acres two roods and four
perches Irish plantation measure more or less as late in possession of said Rice
Meredith as in said recited Indenture of Lease and the Map thereto annexed which
said Lands and premises were also situate in the Barony of Maryborough West[?]
and Queen’s County together with all ways lights casements members appurts to
said premises belonging or appertaining together with all houses buildings and
Improvements made thereon together with said two several leases and all the
Estate right title and Interest property claim and demand of said Rice Meredith
his heirs Exors admons and assigns during the respective terms of lives and
years granted and then to come and unexpired subject to the yearly rents by said
leases reserved and to the observance and performance of the Covenants Clauses
and agreements on the Leases part therein reserved and contained which said Deed
and this Memorial as to the execution thereof by the said Rice Meredith and
Jeremiah Meredith are respectively witnessed by John Doran Writing[?] Clerk
Maryborough Thomas Doran Carpenter Maryboro The above named John Doran Maketh
