Irene Pearl Meredith was born on 20 Oct 1914 in Brantford, OntarioG. She died on 24 Nov 1915, at age 1, in Brantford, OntarioG.
Newspaper: CHILD DROWNED IN PAIL OF WATER; LITTLE IRENE MEREDITH, 13 MONTHS OLD, MET A SAD DEATH. Little Irene Meredith, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Meredith of 86 Huron street was accidentally drowned in a pail of scrubbing water about noon on Saturday while the child's mother was absent from the room for a few minutes. Mrs. Meredith had been engaged in scrubbing and the little tot, who was only 13 months old, was playing around the room. The mother had occasion to go upstairs for some clean scrubbing cloths and it was while she was upstairs that the sad fatality occurred. Just before going upstairs the thought entered the devoted mothers head that the pail of water was dangerous with the child playing around and she emptied half of it out before she left the room. In a few moments she returned and was horrified to find the child headfirst in the pail. All efforts to save the child's life were unavailable. Mr. Meredith was hurriedly summoned from the Cockshutt Plow works where he is employed.
