2 He died on 21 Oct 1862, at age ~41, in Kilrory, Queen’s Co., Ireland.
3 His death followed an accident, which was described in the Leinster Express, 25 Oct 1862, p.5, as follows:
“FATAL ACCIDENT FROM MACHINERY -- A few days ago Mr Edward Bond, of Kilrory, in the Queen's County, was superintending the working of a thrashing machine on his farm, when, by some deplorable mishap, the fingers of one of his hands were caught in it and mangled in a frightful manner. Unfortunately, amputation was not at once resorted to; otherwise the lamentable consequences which followed might have been averted. The injury rapidly grew worse until tetanus, or lock-jaw, supervened. Dr John Jacob, of Maryborough, and Dr Percival, of Stradbally, now exerted their utmost skill and ability, but without success, for, on Tuesday morning last, death mercifully released the sufferer, after he had endured the most dreadful agony. Mr Bond was an extensive farmer, industrious and intelligent and his melancholy and untimely end is greatly regretted by all who knew him. Farmers employing agricultural machinery ought always to be timid in approaching too closely to it while working--especially until they become perfectly acquainted with the several parts.”.

She was living as a boarder in the household of James Edward and Maria Johnston in Ferrybank, Co. Wicklow in 1911.
She was an accomplished wood carver, as exemplified in the following article in theLeinster Express, 19 Oct 1901, p. 5:
“
OAK CARVING
The following notice of a carving in oak, executed by Miss Bond, of Kilrory, Stradbally, is taken from a Liverpool newspaper, and speaks volumes for the magnificence of the work :— "Miss Bond, late of the Irish Industries Exhibition is showing a remarkable example of her carving in oak at Messrs Norbury, Paterson, and Co, 5 Myrtle-street, in an Adam's mantelpiece, over-mantel, and pediment. It has been carved for the Countess of Portarlington, and will be on view for a couple of weeks. It is a marvellous work for a woman ; large in design, and finished in execution. The centre design is descriptive of a Greek washing a slave’s feet, and the drapery, in graceful fold and curve, is exquisitely wrought. The overmantel is Apollo driving the horses of the sun, and how splendidly Miss Bond has carved the beauty of horses in action out of mere wood is well worth seeing. The border is a very rich and elaborate one, and the upper part shows the Portarlington arms. The whole piece is sixteen feet high and nearly nine feet wide, and Miss Bond is to be congratulated on her achievement."
