He was enumerated in the 1911 census as a Hotel Keeper of Dublin Street, Carlow City, aged 58, widower. He was living at Drimcoe, Mount Charles, Co. Donegal at the time of his daughter Hannah’s marriage in 1919.
His son Wm. E. Crampton was the informant of his death.^1,4
