Elizabeth Margaret TURNER and John Barry MEREDYTH were married on 8 Sep 1836 in Collegiate Church, Manchester, EnglandG.2 She died on 20 Sep 1839 in Fallowfield Cottage, near Manchester.
Elizabeth Margaret Turner was the eldest daughter of Joseph Turner of Strangeways, Manchester. Her death was announced in Saunders's News-Letter (25 September 1839 pg. 3) as follows:
“On the 20th instant, at the residence of her father, Joseph Turner, Esq., of Fallowfield Cottage, near Manchester, Elizabeth Margaret, wife of John Barry Meredith, Esq., of 27, Lower Gloucester-street, in this city.”.

John Keating TAYLOR was born in 1783.2 He and Isabella MEREDYTH were married. He and Mary POOLE were married aft. 1830. He died on 3 Mar 1836, at age ~53.3 He was buried in Kilgobbin Cemetery.3
John Keating(e) Taylor was a Captain in the 8th Hussars. In 1831 he was elected by the Lord Mayor and Aldermen of Dublin to serve as Sheriff, and was described as a brewer of Kildare Street.3,4

William Hooper BOYS1

Biography

William Hooper BOYS was born ca. 1780. He was baptised on 19 May 1780 in Rye, SussexG.2 He and Sarah MEREDYTH were married on 24 Sep 1805 in St George’s Church, Douglas, Isle of ManG.3 He died bef. Oct 1851.4
William Hooper Boys was the son of William Boys and Elizabeth, daughter and co-heir of Richard Harcourt of Wigsell, Sussex. He joined the 21st Regiment of Light Dragoons on 12 Mar 1810. He lived at Elford House, Kent, England.
In 1806 or 1807, a Mr Boys killed a John Meredith in a duel on the Isle of Man, the latter having previously been involved in a duel with Sir John Piers. William Hooper Boys was living in the Isle of Man at the time, and it is possible that he was the Mr Boys; the identity of John Meredith is unknown.5,6,1,7

Granville George B CHETWYND-STAPYLTON was born on 22 Mar 1823 in Shenley Lodge, Hertford, England.1 He and Barbara Emily Maria LEESON were married on 8 Dec 1864 in Blessington and Ballymore, Co. He began his military service in 1839, serving in Afghanistan (two medals). He was living at 95 Belgrave Road, London, England in 1881 and was described as a Retired Lieutenant-General in 1891.1

Biography

Granville Joseph CHETWYND-STAPYLTON was born on 11 Sep 1871 in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.1 He and Elizabeth Grace LETHBRIDGE were married in 1906.1 He died on 25 Aug 1914, at age 42, in Solesmes, FranceG.1 He was buried on 17 Dec 1920 in Romeries Communal Cemetery Extension, Romeries, France.
Th following are extracts from his biography in 'London Remembers':

"He joined the army on 13 February 1891 and the 1891 census shows him as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery stationed in the barracks at Dover Castle, Kent. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 13 February 1894 and to Captain on 13 February 1900 and served in the South African War in both O Battery Royal Horse Artillery and 66th Battery Royal Field Artillery, for which he was awarded the Queen's South Africa Medal with five clasps: Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Dreifontein, Johannesburg & Diamond Hill, and the King's South Africa Medal with the 1901 and 1902 clasps.
Joining the British Expeditionary Force, he entered France on 19 August 1914 and whilst attached to 130th Battery, 30th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, he was killed in action, aged 42 years, on 25 August 1914 at Solesmes, France. He was buried near where he fell but on 17 December 1920 his body was exhumed and reburied in Plot X, Row B, Grave 4, at the Romeries Communal Cemetery Extension, Rue De Solesme, Romeries, Nord, France."2
