He was a Carpenter. He was enumerated in 1836 the Field Book of the Valuation Office at Federnagh Townland, Ballymore Parish. His will was dated 26 May 1871 and proved on 9 Nov 1872. His four children were living in America at the time of his will.2

Joseph MEREDITH was born ca. 1818. He and Mary SHANKLIN were married. He died on 25 Dec 1888, at age ~70, in Blenheim Township, Ontario, Canada.
Joseph the son of George Meredith is believed to be the Joseph Meredith whose death was recorded in 1888 in Blenheim, Kent County, Ontario. His death certificate gives his place of birth as Acton, Armagh, Ireland, which is about a mile North of Poyntzpass. He was a Wheelwright.

He was enumerated in the 1861 Canada census at Harwich, Kent County with his wife Mary and daughters Mary and Margaret.
