Joseph MEREDITH was born ca. 1815 in Ireland. He and Mary MURRAY were married bef. 1845. He died aft. 1856 in England.
There is no documentary evidence that this Joseph Meredith was a son of William Meredith of Tandragee. It is speculation based on the facts that:
- his occupation was a Wheelwright; the Tandragee Merediths were carpenters
- his daughter Jane was born in Armagh according to the 1861 England census
- his brother Robert in the 1851 England census is the right age to be the Robert later of Springfield House, Tandragee

He was living at 36 Wilburn Street, Manchester in 1851.

Maiden name known from the birth registration of son William John, and also a niece Margaret Murray (or McMurray) aged 13 was enumerated with them in the 1851 England census. Marriage assumed to be in Ireland pre-compulsory registration.

She was a widow living in Chapel Buildings, Beswick, Manchester in 1861. Birthplace given as Belfast, Ireland in the 1861 census.
