William George Juxon MEREDITH was born in 1858 in Castleisland, Co.KerryG.³ He was baptised in 1867 in Castleisland, Co.KerryG.³ He died on 2 Feb 1947, at age ~89, in New Zealand.

His obituary was published in the Lake Wakatip Mail , Issue 4778, 6 February 1947, Page 2, as follows:
“A very old settler of Queenstown and district, William George Juxon Meredith, passed away at the County hospital on Saturday. A native of Dicksgrovc, County Kerry, Ireland, where he was born 88 years ago, he came out to the Dominion at the age of 24. After spending a short period at Invercargill deceased came on to Queenstown. Mining on the Shotover claimed his attention for some years. He subsequently did blacksmithing work at Lower Shotover and was employed by the Lake County Council on the Skippers road for several years. The late Mr Meredith has lived in retirement in Queenstown for at least 20 years. He was of a retiring disposition, but was much respected in the community. Deceased has relatives in Queenstown and Invercargill. The interment took place on Monday morning in the Queenstown cemetery. The Rev. P. C. Williams officiated at the mortuary and graveside.”.⁴

Charles Talbot was the son of Andrew Talbot. He was living at Church Hill House, Killarney at the time of his marriage in 1884. He was recorded in the 1901 census as the head of household at Knoppoge, Aghadoe, Co. Kerry, and described as a farmer, aged 51, born in Co. Kerry. Enumerated in the same household were his wife Sarah (aged 40), sons Andrew (15), Meredith (13), Richard (4), his daughters Harriet (9), Sadie (5), and 3 servants. He was recorded again as the head of household at Knoppoge in the 1911 census, and described as a hotel proprietor, aged 61, widower. His son Andrew (aged 25) was enumerated in the same household.^3,5,6
