John SALTER was born ca. 1865. He and Caroline Anne (Carrie) MEREDITH were married on 28 Feb 1912 in St. Brigid’s Church, Ballintubber.1,2 He died bef. 1961.
John was the eldest son of George Salter, Blackford House, Queen’s Co. He emigrated with Caroline Anne shortly after their marriage. They are listed as passengers on the SS Afric, scheduled to arrive at Albany on 7 Mar 1912, with their ultimate destination being noted as Hamilton, Victoria. They appear in the Electoral Roll for Hamilton in 1913, in which he is described as a draper.

Benjamin Crawford was the fourth son of Mark Crawford of Drumshambo. He was a merchant. The Irish register of birth has records of four children born to Benjamin Crawford and Jane Metcalf: two sons born in 1866 and 1868 and two daughters born in 1865 and 1867, but without names.1
