He was enumerated in the 1901 census as the head of household at Killeen, Riverstown, and described as Robert Drimmie, aged 44, a Farm Steward, born in Co. Kildare. Enumerated in the same household were his wife Elizabeth (aged 44), sons Robert (18), Henry (14) and Martin (10), and daughters Eleanor (16) and Millicent (7).

She was living at Drogheda square, Mountmellick and 36 Henry Street, Mountmellick at the time of the births of her children in 1902 and 1911 respectively. She died from tetanus consequent on severe burns received in an accident.
