3 Susan Wilkinson was the daughter of Edward Luttrell, a farmer. She was living at Cappakeel at the time of her marriage. She had one child. It is assumed that her father is the same Edward Luttrell who was a widower in 1853 and who married Rebecca Wilkinson in that year, but there is no direct evidence for this.
Her obituary in the Leinster Leader (6 Mar 1954, pg. 9) was as follows:
“Mrs. Susan Wilkinson, who died at her residence, Cappakeel, Portarlington, had reached the age of 98 years. She was the oldest lady in the district. A native of Cappakeel, she was widow of the late Mr. John Wilkinson, a well known and extensive farmer. A lady of estimable qualities and of great personal charm, she was noted for her great charitableness to others.
Her funeral to Coolbanagher cemetery, where interment took place on Monday, was followed by the largest cortege seen in the area for a number of years. She is survived by her son, Mr. James Wilkinson; daughter-in-law, Mrs. J. Wilkinson, and great grand nephew and niece, Mr and Mrs A. Hutchinson.”.
