Rev. Richard Warburton was born ca. 1723 in Co.Tipperary. He and Anne Elliott were married on 9 Apr 1752.¹ He died in 1802, at age ~79.

His entry in the Alumni Dublinenses records that he was born in Tipperary, the son of George, a Clergyman. He was educated by Dr Towers. He entered Trinity College Dublin on 30 Apr 1740, aged 16, and was awarded a B.A. in 1744 and an M.A. in 1749.

According to J B Leslie's "Ossory clergy and parishes" he was the eldest son of Rev. George Warburton. He was ordained on 14 Feb 1747/8, Rector of Knocktopher 1753-54 and Vicar of Gallen and Rynagh (Banagher) in the Diocese of Meath 1754-98. He married Anne daughter of Col. Eliot of Mt. Eliot, Co, Wexford in 1752; their 11 children were : (1) Bartholomew Boyd, m. Eliz. Batt P. Will pr. 1824 ; (2) Rev John, b. in King's Co., ent, T.C.D. Jan. 6, 1777, aged 19, B.A. 1781; (3) Thomas ; (4) Richard ; (5) Robert, ? Capt. R.N., d. intest. 1808; (6) Peter; and 5 daus. including Charity, m. 1801, John Davis of Borris-in-Ossory.

He was appointed master of the Free School in Banagher on 26 Aug 1777.^2,3,4

J B Leslie's "Ossory clergy and parishes" has an entry for 1736 when he was a Prebendary of Clonamerey, as follows:
"1736.-George Warburton, adm. Preb. (F.F.). He was the 3rd son of George W. of Aughrim, M.P. for Gowran, and was probably the G. W. of T.C.D. Sch. 1708, B.A. 1709, M.A. 1712. He was Preb. Tomgraney (Killaloe), 1719-22, R. and V. Templederry and V. Kilmore (do.) 1722-4, Preb. Lockeen and R. and V. Birr 1724-36, when he seems to have res. for this Preb. which he vacated in 1753 and again became R. and V. Birr, and d. intest. in April, 1760. He m. a Miss Warren, of Grangebeg, Co. Kilkenny, and had issue :—(I) Rev. Richard, T.C.D. M.A. 1749, R. Banagher ; (2) George; (3) John; (4) Henry; (5) Thomas; and a dau. Susana, m. —— Nethercott; (see B.L.G.)."³

She was the daughter of Henry and Susanna Warren of Co. Kildare. J. B. Leslie's "Ossory clergy and parishes"? says she was from Grangebeg, Co. Kilkenny [presumably a typo for Kildare].

The Will of her brother Maurice Warren of Dublin, dated 24 Jun 1725 and proved 22 Nov 1726, mentions the following:
