“The death has taken place of Mr. Samuel Deverell, of Annagharvey House, Tullamore, Offaly. Mr. Deverell was recognised as one of the best and most progressive farmers in the county, whose advice on all aspects of farming was eagerly sought and given freely. In the past, he was a frequent exhibitor of stock at agricultural shows. He was chairman of the North Offaly Co-Operative Society. He represented the Diocese of Kildare on the General Synod of the Church of Ireland. He was also a member of the Diocesan Synod and the Diocesan Council, and honorary secretary and treasurer of his parish, Geashill, for 36 years. Mr. Deverell is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.”.
