John BANTING was born ca. 1745. He was baptised on 17 Dec 1745 in Wherwell, Hampshire. He and Elizabeth were married. He died on 29 Sep 1817, at age ~72, in Clonenagh Parish, Queen's County, Ireland.2
In the Clonenagh parish register, John's occupation in 1775 was said to be "Gardener to Wm Pole Esq.", at Ballyfin.

Tombstone in old Clonenagh Cemetery:
"To the Memory of Elizabeth Banting wife to John Banting of Ballyfinn who departed this life the 17th of May in the year of our Lord 1800 Aged 61 years / Also the remains of the said John Banting departed this life the 29th of Septe'r 1817 Aged 75 years"

**Note**. There are numerous trees on Ancestry claiming that John Banting married Lady Elizabeth Hall. There appears there to be no evidence that John married into a titled family, or that he himself was born to an aristocratic family, as is also sometimes claimed.
