His death announcement appeared in the Dublin Freeman's Journal and Daily Commercial Advertiser on 23 Sept. 1878: "August 19, at Port Blair, the Andamans, died of typhoid fever, Edward Bishopp Meredith, Surgeon, H.I.M. Bengal Medical Service, aged 24 years."

Richard Edmund Meredith was born on 18 Nov 1855 in Ireland. He and Anne (Annie) Pollock were married on 14 Sep 1880 in St. Peter's Church, Dublin.⁴ He died on 28 Jan 1916, at age 60, in Surrey, EnglandG.

Richard Edmund Meredith was a barrister, admitted to the bar in 1879. He was appointed Queen's Council in 1892 and was a Bencher, King's Inn in 1894. He became a Supreme Court Judge in 1896 and retired in 1912. In the 1911 census he lived at 31 with his wife and two children. Some time later his address was 32 Molesworth St., Dublin according to Who's Who. Richard was Master of the Rolls in Ireland. He had 3 sons and 2 daughters. A master's thesis by B.F. Clarke (UWO, 1978) reports that in 1916 a daughter of Richard E. Meredith inherited $1000. from Ada Walsingham Meredith, of London, Ontario, Canada. The date of his death was recorded in the Family Bible of Ada Walsingham Meredith.

“Mr. Meredith in his earlier days was a keen sportsman, and a noted expert with a sporting gun. For many years he was an ardent philatelist, and a recognised authority on old ‘Irish Postage Stamps and Franks’, and he wrote a valuable book on the subject. He was one of the oldest members of the Rathmichael Parish Church. He was very popular with all among whom he lived in the Shankill district, where his death is much regretted.”.

Rev. William Ernest Richard Scott was born on 22 Nov 1874. He and Adelaide (Ada) Creed Meredith were married on 29 Jan 1903 in St Bartholomew's Church, DublinG.^2,3 He died in Nov 1954, at age ~80, in South Tyrone HospitalG.

He was the 8th of 11 sons of George Scott M.A. of Fairholme, Greystones, County Wicklow. He completed the M.A. at Trinity College, Dublin (TCD).

His obituary appeared in the 30 November 1954 edition of the Irish Times, transcribed as follows:
"REV. W. E. R. SCOTT
The Rev. William Ernest Richard Scott, The Rectory, Tullyhogue, Cookstown, whose death has occurred in South Tyrone Hospital, was 80 years of age. He was the third son of the late Mr. George Scott, Greystones, Co. Wicklow. Mr. Scott had been Rector of Ardtrea and Desertcreat Parish Churches for many years. Last year he and Mrs. Scott received gifts from the parishioners of both churches to mark their golden jubilee wedding and Mr. Scott's 51 years in the ministry. Educated privately and at Trinity College, Dublin, Mr. Scott was a curate in Portadown and Rector of Louth Union before going to Ardtrea in 1904. When the parish was amalgamated with Desertcreat in 1926 he was appointed rector of both churches. He is survived by his wife - who is a daughter of the late Sir James Creed Meredith and Lady Meredith. Dublin — a daughter and three sons."
