Henrietta was the daughter of John Meredith of Clara Hill, Queen’s County.

Extract from Quebec City Gazette published by Quebec Family History Society (their web page: ): “Marriage of David Mair of Brockville, 2 September 1848 at Prescott to "Hennetta", dau of the late John Meredith of Clara Hill, Queens County, Ireland.”

Henrietta was in 1861 census living in Leeds county and maintaining a boarding house, widow age 45.

In 1871 she was living in the household of Lester and Jane Putnam (Jane was a cousin of Henrietta's, a daughter of Charles ‘Coote’ Meredith and Katherine Wyly) in Kingston, Ontario, widow age 62; also in the household is a "Cherrie" Meredith, age 21, born USA.

In the 1891 census Henrietta was living with Duncan (35, born Quebec) and Harriet (21 born USA) McLennan in Lancaster, Glengarry county, Ontario. Duncan and Harriet have a 1-year old son John. Henrietta is 72 and her relationship to the head is said to be grandmother. The birth registration for John names his mother as Hattie Blair. Given that Henrietta and David Mair married when she was probably in her late 30s, perhaps she had been married previously to either a McLennan or a Blair? Puzzling!

Ontario Death reg'n #14392: age 87, cause of death apoplexy (indexed by ancestry as "Mavi"); lived on the 1st concession.²
