His death was announced in the Monday, Dec. 2, 1918 edition of The Times, transcribed as follows:
"CAPTAIN HILL WILSON WHITE, R.A.M.C., fourth son of the Dean of Christ Church, Dublin, is now officially reported as presumed to have been killed on April 12 last. He joined the Army in August, 1914, and served in England, France, and Belgium. He was wounded at Ypres in December, 1915, but was able after a few months to return to duty. In the early months of this year, he was in medical charge of a reinforcement camp, and was dispatched with a battalion to meet an almost overwhelming advance by the enemy. In the fighting that ensued he acquitted himself with great gallantry, attending to the wounded under heavy shell fire. His younger brother, Second Lieutenant Gerald J. D. White, Royal Irish Regiment, was killed at the Somme in July, 1916."
The base of a memorial in Mount Jerome Cemetery, Dublin, bears the inscription:
"HILL WILSON WHITE M.B. Captain R.A.M.C. | Born 12th
June 1885, Killed in Action near Vieux Berquin 12th April 1918."

Chancellor H. V. White, vicar of St. Bartholomew's, Dublin. He joined the Royal Irish Regiment last August, after passing with credit through Sandhurst. He went to the front in March last. His colonel writes of him as a "very brave 'soldier." His brother, Captain H. W. White, R.A.M.C., was wounded at Ypres last December, and another brother, H. Vere White, is a captain in A.S.C."
